Council Elections 2025

The time is approaching when we need to elect new Council members, so please give some thought to anyone you may wish to propose (with their permission of course) to this office.
There are 3 vacancies and Council are keen to hear from anyone willing to put their name forward to take an active part in running British Carriagedriving.
Nominations must be received by 12 noon on Friday 31st October 2025. Please find the relevant nomination forms to download below.
From the Chairman
British Carriagedriving Council is completely voluntary, and we are looking for new Council members to join us from November.
We are seeking people with the time and enthusiasm to develop and move the sport of competition carriage driving forwards and this requires specific skills as well as passion for our sport.
We are committed to improving and developing the sport and have changed many of the committees, in order to be more inclusive of all levels of our sport. These committees meet regularly.
Our sport is very diverse and inclusive. We have drivers from 6 to 80+, including able bodied and Para drivers.
Our competitions include 1,2 & 3 day, competitions from beginners to world class.
We are continually trying to find ways of improving communication with our members and we now meet monthly with the Affiliated Clubs, who run driving all over the country.
Welfare and social licence are becoming integral to all we do and we have recently joined with the BDS to work together to promote this and we hope to include more of the driving world in the near future.
An area we are keen to cover and develop is sponsorship and fund raising. This is key to support training and competitions.

Any British Carriagedriving member is eligible to stand for Election. Each nominee must be proposed, seconded and supported by three other assentors, all of whom should be current members of British Carriagedriving.
