 “As President of the Sandringham Festival of Carriage Driving, I’m proud to be part of this unique and historic event, founded over forty years ago by the late Prince Philip, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.

His vision and passion for carriage driving remain at the heart of the festival, and it continues to evolve while staying true to his remarkable legacy.

This year, the committee is thrilled to present what can only be described as the drivers’ showground - an event created by drivers, for drivers. Whether you’re a grassroots novice or an international competitor, this festival is designed to be your home, your community, and your celebration of the sport.

The event will showcase the full spectrum of carriage driving disciplines.

From the historic charm of Coaching, Private Driving and Attelage d’Tradition, to the thrill of Scurry & Driving Trials and Horse Boarding, there is something here for everyone.

We're also proud to feature dedicated classes for the rare and beautiful native Hackney breed.

At the very core of the festival is the discipline that started it all - Horse Driving Trials - honouring the foundation laid by my father-in-law.

This year, Sandringham Horse Driving Trials event is evolving into something truly unique: The Sandringham Festival of Carriage Driving - the only event in the UK to bring together six major carriage driving disciplines in one spectacular weekend.  

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Sandringham Estate, this exciting new format builds on the legacy of the Horse Driving Trials event while expanding into a full celebration of the sport – from precision-driven trials to elegant displays and high-adrenaline entertainment.  

Alongside a full complement of National classes hosted over three days, from Novice through to Teams, we are very proud to be hosting the Advanced Horse Pairs National Championships, and a selection event for the Para Driving squad.

 The Windsor @ Sandringham Club classes offer the same flexible format that other Windsor Club events offer, including option to enter 1 ,2 or all three phases independently, and the ability to bring out young / inexperienced equines into the lower level.

Sponsored by Zilco, we will be hosting a Gateway competition on Sunday. All competitors will receive a goody bag and the winner with the lowest score will receive a £30 Zilco gift voucher.

For the WPEC members entering, this event counts towards your Points League.

We aim to be as accommodating as possible to competitor requests – provided they are reasonable, submitted in good time, and do not compromise equine welfare.
