Osberton International Horse Trials once again plays host to the Bennington Carriages National Carriage Driving event, that proved a big hit with both competitors and spectators in 2022. From 29th September 1st October, over 5,000 spectators are expected to converge on the Osberton Estate to enjoy some of the very best eventing and driving action, plus a range of activities suitable for all members of the family. Last year saw the BEDE Team go to exceptional lengths to bring top-level driving sport back to the Osberton Estate, with a new marathon course and new obstacles that drew wide amounts of praise across the weekend. Headlined by local family run business, Bennington Carriages, of Long Bennington, all those involved in the staging of the event are excited to welcome back drivers from across the country to wow the local crowds with the thrill of marathon driving. Set against the magnificent back drop of this private Nottinghamshire estate, Osberton gives national drivers the opportunity to compete in front of a crowd and an electric atmosphere. Not only that, but Osberton offers drivers the complete package with an extensive array of evening entertainment, onsite brasserie, enhanced stabling for 2023 and the chance to compete alongside world class eventing. Following feedback from competitors at Sandringham, amendments are being made to the courses at Osberton that take into account the lateness of the event within the carriage driving schedule, plus changes to the Marathon course are being made on account of the sloping terrain. 2022 Horse Fours winner Karen Bassett commented: It was fantastic to be back at Osberton, it would make a great venue for the National Championships and we all really enjoy competing in such a brilliant atmosphere. The obstacles are excellent, some are open and fast, while others are tight and technical, so you really have to think. The venue is just fantastic, and it is wonderful competing alongside the horse trials and the atmosphere was electric at times. Closing date for entries is 8th September.
