Queen's Birthday Honours for Boyd Exell

Australian born and British based carriage driver Boyd Exell has been awarded an Order of Australia (OAM) in the Queen's Birthday Honours list for services to equestrian sports.

Boyd Exell is an internationally acclaimed four-in-hand carriage driver who this year won his fifth World Cup Driving Championship.

He is also the trainer of Team GBR drivers at a number of World Championships.

The Order of Australia is the pre-eminent way Australians recognise the achievements and service of their fellow citizens and in the Australian honours system, appointments to the Order of Australia confer recognition for outstanding achievement and service.

Among his many achievements, Boyd has also won the Aachen CHIO (Concours Hippique International Officiel) on six occasions and is the current World Four-in-hand Driving Champion.

He has been the British National Four-in-Hand Champion on 8 occasions.

Boyd is also the deputy chairman of the FEI Technical Committee for Driving and member of the Judges Supervisory panel.
