| In 2020, British Carriagedriving received a very generous legacy from a former member. The overall purpose is to use the legacy to invest in the sustainable growth of the sport.
High level categories for use of legacy funding may include:
-
New initiatives that have a reasonable prospect of increasing membership of BC e.g. welcome/taster days, advertising and promotion to other equine disciplines
-
Investment in critical events/venues that promotes/secures their longer time viability/success e.g. obstacle grants.
-
Investment in equipment used to support the growth of the sport
-
Investment in training and education initiatives e.g. to support coaches/trainers, officials and membership.
In evaluating any applications, the following factors will be taken into consideration:-
- need
- benefit impact
- sustainability(viability)
- fairness
- value for money
Initial enquiries can be made via any Council member or the BC office
prior to submitting a proposal. Applications and beneficiaries will be from BC affiliated clubs and BC members. Each application will be assessed on its merits and the local circumstances. All awards will be at the absolute discretion of BC Council.
